I don’t want to jinx it, but I think the summer heat is finally dying out; of course now that I said that it will probably be over 90 next week. That’s ok though because you need a few more hot sunny days to try this sweet vinaigrette recipe! I got the idea from the blog Coconut & Lime and figured it would be perfect for a nice sweet summer salad.
Homemade salad dressings used to creep me out. My mom would always tell me not to buy pre-made ones because they are so easy to make, but it took me a while to finally realize it. Now I am going to tell you exactly what my mom used to tell me, DON’T BUY PRE-MADE SALAD DRESSINGS! It really is so easy to make dressing at home and they are usually SO much healthier; not to mention you get to create your own unique dressing every time! This is a very easy vinaigrette recipe that can be turned into practically any fruity vinaigrette recipe.
- 2 tbsp strawberry jam/jelly
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup vinegar
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
- A pinch of salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Combine all ingredients in a lidded container and shake until well combined.
- Season to taste by adding more salt, pepper, vinegar or jam.

Awesome photos Jenny! This looks really good.
I want to have this salad dressing with lunch! It looks gorgeous, and sounds perfectly delicious.
I love strawberry vinaigrette! I only had one good recipe to go by and now I have two! Thanks for sharing Jenny, as always, love your photos! =]
This dressing looks so tasty! I love throwing strawberries on my salad so this would be a great dressing to use!
Ha! How easy is THAT? The recipe I know is a bit more complicated but I think that this one is just as good and you don’t have to purchase overpriced, flavourless out of season strawberries!
Cheers,
Tobias
I completely agree! The only time I use store bought dressings is for the occasional marinade! The homemade is SO much better and ridiculously easy!
Mmmm, this looks delicious and SO pretty!
Im still waiting for the harsh slap of mother natures last heat wave. I don’t trust her!
This vinaigrette sounds super tasty and perfect to hang on to the last bit of summer before fall and much colder weather haunts our days
