What a crazy summer it has been! I recently took point on our catering program at Whole Foods Market in Frisco, CO. It has been steadily growing and I am so excited for what is in store. Next week, we are going to be providing food for the Pro Challenge bike race when it is in Summit County. After that, I am going to start seasonal tasting events and cooking classes!
The GoodWill near my house recently had a half off sale. I know that seems ridiculous since everything is already priced so low, but it mean shopping time for me! It was like Christmas going through their kitchen section. There were so many cute accessories and dishes for my food photos. I came out with multiple textured mats, plates, bowls, silverware and more all for only $14! This picture shows a few of my new accessories. I love the textures in this photo even though the colors are a bit off.
The second lobster dish that I cooked this week was Lobster Thermidor. This recipe took a bit longer than the Butter Poached Lobster & Shrimp recipe. I added shrimp to this recipe as well to add some extra substance to the meal, since we didn’t have very much lobster meat. I found this recipe on MyRecipes from Cooking Light, but tweaked it a little. It is a healthier version of a Lobster Thermidor recipe. If I could afford to buy lobster more often, I would cook these two recipes all the time!
