Trying Out Online Grocery Shopping
Over the last two months, I have had the privilege to test out Walmart’s
new Walmart To-Go program. I was a little hesitant to participate at first, but decided to give it a go. I was curious to see how many organic food items they would have available, now that they have their Wild Oats organic line.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that they offered quite a few organic items, including organic chicken. When you check out online, you have the option for “allow substitutions” or “no substitutions”, which was nice since I wanted to ensure that I was getting my organic products and not conventional. If I were to order online again, I would probably stick with non-perishables. I like being able to pick out my own meat and produce so that I know I got the best one!
The store had parking spots right in front where you can park and they bring our your groceries for you! On my first order, they even gave me a little goodie bag with ORGANIC beans, tissues, toothpaste, Chapstick and Tide Pods.
I think this is the beginning of a new era for grocery shopping. With a lot of big name grocery stores allowing the online shopping, busy moms and others will be able to grab their groceries quickly without the hassle of going into the store. This was nice for my boyfriend and I since we were in a hurry to get back to the mountains and had a long drive ahead of us. I think this program will also be great for the holidays when NOBODY wants to be wandering throughout a crowded store!
As a participant in the Walmart Grocery to Go program, I’ve received a personal invite and payment for my time and efforts in creating this post.
