Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich on Garlic Bread

My Philly cheesesteak may not be any better than the next guys, but I can assure you that this recipe with the garlic bread is!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf French bread halved lengthwise
  • 1/4-1/2 cup butter softened
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tbsp parsley
  • 1/2 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 lb flank steak cooked
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese or cheese of choice

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375F.
  • Spread softened butter over each side of the French bread. Top with garlic, parsley, black pepper and salt.
  • Bake until butter has melted (about 5-10 minutes). Keep warm in oven.
  • Meanwhile, melt 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and peppers, season with garlic powder, parsley, oregano, black pepper and salt; sautee until softened (about 5-10 minutes).
  • Layer sliced flank steak over one side of the French bread, top with onion and peppers mixture and cover with cheese.
  • Return the sandwich to the oven until the cheese has melted (about 3-5 minutes).
