Spring Green Quinoa w/ Lemon, Basil & Acovado Dressing
Is is spring or summer? Sometimes, it is hard to tell up here. I have to say, I am torn about the title of this dish. Yes, the asparagus and peas are in season in the spring. BUT, where I live they are kind of in season all summer. In all reality, they are available year-around as well. Regardless, you should add this dish to your to-make list.
Spring Pea & Arugula Risotto with Mint
Wow, am I happy to have my blog back! As some of you may have noticed, Savour the Senses went MIA for about a week. 🙁 I was going to switch web hosts, but realized how difficult it is to transfer my database and files without a web genius’ help! Luckily I was able to go back on my decision and didn’t lose anything. On another note, summer has arrived in Summit County and it is fantastic. My garden is planted outside and my greens just sprouted today!
Potato Gnocchi w/ Jerk Chicken on Sweet Pea Puree–My Chef Dennis Guest Post!
I am so excited to tell you that I am a part of Chef Dennis’ “guest post Fridays” for September 2nd! Dennis is a great guy in the food world and I am so excited to be guest posting for him! I have had about a month to decide what recipe I would use for my guest post, which might have made it even more difficult, but I finally decided I would share this recipe that was passed onto me by a good friend. She told me that she suffered sweating in the non-air-conditioned lobby of a hotel in South America in order to e-mail me this delicious recipe. I am glad she did because it is delicious!
Please head over to A Culinary Journey With Chef Dennis for the full post and say hi!
Salmon in Lemon Brodetto w/ Pea Puree
I finally had a day off of work, which meant I could finally cook for me! After spending the day cooped up doing homework because of the blowing snow outside, I decided to make a semi-fancy dinner for myself as a reward for all of my hard work. =) This dish is plated kind of similar to the Cajun Salmon w/ Spicy Eggplant Salsa that I made a little while back, but has extremely different flavors. So, if that dish didn’t suit your taste, this one just might!
I have to say this might be one of the better things that I have tasted in a bit. The Lemon Brodetto gives the salmon a nice citrus kick and the pea puree tones it down with a rich flavor. I tweaked the original recipe, from FoodNetwork.com, and lowered the measurements for lemon juice. The lemon was just a tiny bit too strong with the original portions. I love how much flavor there is in this dish, plus it is super easy to make!
