Morning Boost Juice
It is finally beginning to feel like summer in the mountains! My heirloom tomato plants have little baby tomatoes finally and the rest of my plants are growing like crazy. I can’t wait to be able to put them outside and plant my outdoor garden. We’ve also been getting awesome organic boxes from Door to Door Organics, filled with delicious fruits and vegetables- perfect for juicing materials.
I became hooked on making juice after I moved back to Colorado. I love trying out crazy combinations. I have learned that with apples, carrots and celery you can add pretty much whatever you want to the juice (I love using my broccoli stems!) and it will turn out pretty tasty. One word of advice- do not put the peel of any citrus in the juicer! I learned (the hard way) that the pith of the citrus fruit makes the juice bitter and unsalvageable. If you are interested in making your own juice, try this delicious, nutrient dense recipe I came up with! One final tip- always add a couple ice cubes to the juice; it makes it WAY better!
