The Awaiting Table School of Cookery in Italy
I can’t believe that it has already been almost a year since I went to Italy! Do you remember my fairy tale trip to cooking school in Southern Italy last fall? If you missed it, here are some of my posts from my trip:

Asian Spiced Cucumbers
HELLO WORLD! I am officially back in Boulder. I moved into an apartment all alone (my first time EVER living alone). It definitely has it’s ups and downs, but I am getting used to it. I started school this week at Escoffier too! The first week is all ServSafe, which is health and sanitation, so it is kind of boring; but next week we get started in the kitchens!
Hawaii Living & Life in a Restaurant Kitchen
Can you believe that I have already been living in Hawaii for 6 months! You might be saying, “Yes actually I can because you have fallen off the face of the web only to periodically brag to us about your awesome time there.” Ok, ok you are right- BUT, I am moving back to home sweet home in a little over a month to go to Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in none other than Boulder, Colorado (the town I went to college in AND the town named the #1 Foodiest Town in America by Bon Appetite!). Although my time here is almost over, it is bittersweet. I miss home but I have learned so much about different cultures and cuisines while here and I am so excited to share everything I have learned with you once my adventure is over.
Eating Oahu North to South
So I know it may appear that I have fallen off the earth. Just like last time, I am assuring you that I haven’t. I have been super busy though, working and playing. A few weeks ago my mom came to Hawaii to visit me, which meant a weekend filled with eating. I feel bad that I haven’t had the time to write my own posts for a while, but I just felt like my mom’s post about her trip encompassed everything so well that I had to link to it for all of you to enjoy.

If you ever feel like you are lost and spiraling into a path far from what you imagined your life being, take a minute to think about what your passion is, what you love, and what you miss doing that you used to do. The last few weeks have been beyond stressful for me, and finally I found my happy place again. I remembered why I became so obsessed with blogging, cooking and everything food. What was missing that was causing me to go so crazy? For me, it was the loud music in my kitchen and cooking my own recipes at home for myself and only myself. I find a peaceful place in my kitchen when I am alone and am not trying to please anyone but myself. I can take as long as I want on the dish, while listening to music, without a care in the world. I am so happy that my new job gives me nights off because now I know what has been missing.
Quarter-Life Crisis & Dreaming of Summer {Giveaway Closed}
I am sure many of you have been wondering where I have been. No, I did not drown or get eaten by a tiger shark. No, I did not move away to a remote village with no internet. No, I did not abandon my blog. I know it is shocking that none of these things happened. Here is what has actually been up.
Featured Foodie Friday: Chef Dennis
Have no fear, this Friday the 13th is your lucky day. Why? Because we have an AWESOME guest blogger here today with an amazing recipe for Featured Foodie Friday, Chef Dennis. If you missed it, I guest posted for him a while back with my Potato Gnocchi w/ Jerk Chicken on Green Pea Puree recipe. If you are not already following his blog, you need to. He is full of great advice and wonderful recipes.
As for this cake? For all of you who are stuck in rainy/snowy/cold/cloudy weather or didn’t get the chance to take a vacation this spring break, this cake is your way to indulge and transport yourself here with me in Hawaii. I do have to admit, I had indulged in my first Pina Colada since being here last week and it has me wanting to bake this cake ASAP.

Arroz Con Pollo
Yikes! Is it already Wednesday?! It looks like I am on Hawaiian time with my blog posts. This weekend/week has been packed with fun and work. For Easter, I got to go to the West side of the island to the gorgeous beaches. Since then, it has been work, work, work at Morimoto. Although I have to admit, I recently read an article about the Top 5 Regrets of the Dying. Number one? “I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.” So, let this be a reminder to us all, sometimes calling in sick or volunteering to go home early is worth more than the $50 from your work hours. I know I won’t be letting work get me down any more while I am here in Hawaii.
Featured Foodie Friday: SaucyCooks
Do you hate making decisions? I kind of do. This week was filled with some big decision making, I will share more with you when things are more solidified. Either way, it’s weeks like these that make me want to just pack my bags and go, yet again. I don’t want to decide on things, I just want them to happen; unfortunately this is not always how life works, so for now I will hope that I am making the right decisions and that things will figure themselves out in the end. Our guest blogger this Friday is one of the masterminds behind SaucyCooks, Jill, who has also had to make some big decisions. Luckily for us, they involved her starting the SaucyCooks blog. Check out her delicious Chicken Marsala recipe for this week’s Featured Foodie Friday.

Morimoto was back in town this past week and was intimidating as ever. On Friday night I was asking a co-worker to sneak me a piece of steak to eat. While I was asking, his eyes widened and he turned on his feet and went back to grilling. I turned around to see Morimoto in my station just standing there looking around and scoping it out; horrifying. On Saturday night, he made this amazing sushi cake type thing with ten pieces of every sushi filling you could imagine; if I can find a picture of it online I will share it with you.
