Garlic Green Chile BBQ Sauce

All of this sunshine has been great for pool days and barbecues. It has also had me inside in the air conditioning experimenting with sauces to barbecue with. I am obsessed with the basil cream sauce that I originally made for my Roasted Tomato & Basil Turkey Burgers, but I also wanted to come up with some new barbecue sauce ideas. I love making barbecue sauces because they are so easy to make yourself and you can add what ever you want to them to create a new, unique sauce.

I love spicy food, so I wanted to make a spicy barbecue sauce. The only thing was that I feel like I always use adobo to add spice to my barbecue sauces. This time I decided to be adventurous and try a new idea for my sauce- hatch green chiles. I wasn’t sure if it would taste completely weird with the sauce, but I decided to go for it anyway, and I am glad I did. This barbecue sauce does not seem super spicy right off the bat, but grows on you while you eat with it. By the end of the steak I was surprised how hot my mouth was. It also has a very unique flavor from the green chiles and lime juice that most barbecue sauces won’t give you. If you feel like adding some spice and adventure to your barbecue, I would definitely recommend trying this sauce.

Green chiles make everything taste better. And putting them on steak is one of my favorite things to do. Never thought to just make it all into a sauce. Thanks!
